Femocracy

Looking back in history, it’s soon clear that female chancellors, ministers or secretaries of state have never been a matter of course. This film tells the stories of women politicians between 1949 and 1990 who had to fight against men obsessed with success and power to participate in democratic decision-making processes and who ultimately paved the way for equal participation in politics. They pursued their goals fearlessly, doggedly and with infinite patience. Their memories are both comical and bitter, absurd and at times alarmingly topical.
