Present-day Warsaw. Robert, a musician, meets a waitress Alicja, at a party given by his father, a famous actor. He overhears her singing and proposes they work together on music. Alicja lacks self-confidence and faith in her talent. Robert, who lives in his father's shadow, sees in Alicja's music a chance to come into his own. As they work together, they develop feelings for one another.
