eu_filmdays_flags_POLAND POLAND

A lecture by film critic Michał Oleszczyk combined with revival screenings of Hear My Cry and one other film.

Usłyszcie mój krzyk (Hear My Cry), directed by Maciej J. Drygas, 1991, 46 min
Telling the story of Ryszard Siwiec, who immolated himself during the harvest festival at the Warsaw Stadium in September 1968, this film contains a terrible seven-second visual report of the tragic incident. Through this experiment, the director searches for the answer to the question: why was his cry not heard?
